Below are details of the times at which we normally ring.
Sunday 10:30 to 11:00am for Parish Communion
Monday 7:30 to 9:00pm Practice

Sometimes there are changes to the usual arrangements, for instance there is the occasional quarter peal on a Sunday evening. Please see the notices to the right to check on any changes or contact Kelvin Appleby on 0191 384 7362 or send an email to

When new ringers are being taught the early stages of bell handling we normally do this before the main practice. Entry to the church for the main practice is through the north door which will be open from 7:30pm until 9:00pm so you will be able to arrive any time during the evening. Please note that we have a system to alert us to all entries and exits which are also continuously monitored on CCTV for security purposes.

There are many other opportunities to ring in Durham and the times when ringing regularly takes place at the other Durham towers are listed below. Visitors and new ringers will always be welcome, but it is advisable to check with the individual contacts before your visit. Ringing at Brancepeth is organised by DUSCR, the Durham Students' society, and the ringing times there are during University terms only.
